Mike Sorrentino (Pacific Coast News) Abercrombie & Fitch may have picked a fight with the wrong reality stars. Late Tuesday the company issued a press release offering to pay the Situation and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast not to wear its clothes.A&F successfully grabbed headlines, but the joke was soon on them as the Jersey Shore guys responded to the slight. Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino tweeted a link to a CNN Money article all about how the clothing company's stock took an 8% dip that coincided with its press release. He wrote: "Looks like Abercrombie got themself into a Situation!"
Meanwhile DJ Pauly D called out the company for trying to profit on Jersey Shore in the past, writing: "Hmmm if They Don't Want Us To Wear Those Clothes Why Make GTL Shirts #yourPRsux" He included a picture of the GTL shirt in question for good measure.
Finally Vinny Guadignino chimed in, turning #lasttimeIworeabercrombie into a trending topic. He wrote: "#lasttimeIworeabercrombie there were still stores in NY to buy it at."
